The Reggae Faea Music campaign, organised by the Peer Educators Advocacy Group (PEA Group), has continued to gather strong support from several groups, individuals, music groups, and companies. The impact of this collective support ensured that the event staged at Fres wota Park was a success, and it’s clear that Reggae Faea has become bigger and better than its humble beginnings six years ago!
This year’s Reggae Faea crowd exceeded expectations, with thousands of people from all age groups attending. The Monkey Boys kick started the event with two of their famous comedy performances at around two o’clock in the afternoon before music bands delivered outstanding melodious performances filled with messages surrounding the theme of the event – Planem Gud Famli Blong Yu (Use Family Planning).
Statistics gathered by Reggae Faea Volunteers shows that over four thousand (4,000) people attended the event during different parts of the day and night. This figure shows that Reggae Faea has increased its music and community educational outreach to the public by almost one hundred percent compared to Reggae Faea 2015, with great thanks to due to major sponsors.
Thus, the Reggae Faea Organising Committee would to like acknowledge the sponsors, who are also partners in this music advocacy campaign, for their support and their confidence in Reggae Faea as a musical platform to promote and advocate for better health care and proper family planning.
